There are so many varying opinions over the internet about how important pagerank is - I am one who thinks it is important for the following reasons. It can help to get your website positioned higher in search engines & it's important when negotiating advertising. So what is pagerank?
Definition:
The name given to Google's method of ranking pages according to a number of factors such as link popularity. Often displayed as "PR." A PR is a scale between 1-10. So, a website with a PR10 is the highest possible ranked website, whereas PR0 is the lowest. This blog, being new, is currently PR0.
How to increase PR:
Make sure you include at least one link to Google. They need quality traffic as well. Don't be greedy and hog it all to yourself. This can do wonders for your pages. Remember - Google may be going public soon - so the more traffic you send them the better.
Getting your links onto websites with a higher PR than you, is a good way to increase your own PR.
